Privacy Policy — RentPulse

Last updated: 27 September 2026

RentPulse ("we", "us", "the app") is published by Muhammad Jawwad, an individual developer based in Pakistan. RentPulse helps landlords keep track of their properties, tenants, leases, rent and deposits. This policy explains what data the app collects, why, who processes it on our behalf, and your rights regarding it.

1. Data we collect

Category Source Why we collect it
Your name, email address and profile photo link Google Sign-In, stored in your account with Supabase To create and identify your account
Your account's user ID Created by our backend (Supabase) when you sign in To keep your records in your account and link your purchase to you
The rental records you enter: properties and their addresses, units, leases, rent amounts, payments, deposits, and a timeline of events You type them into the app; stored in your account with Supabase This is what the app is for: showing what is due, collected and owed
Details about your tenants that you enter: name, phone number, email address and notes You type them into the app; stored in your account with Supabase To keep track of who each tenancy belongs to and how to reach them
Purchase history Google Play billing, processed by RevenueCat To unlock RentPulse after a one-time purchase and restore it on a new device
App usage events (screens opened, features used), approximate location derived from your IP address, and device information PostHog and Firebase Analytics To understand how the app is used and improve it. You can turn this off (see section 4)
Crash reports and diagnostics (device model, OS version, app version, what went wrong) Firebase Crashlytics To find and fix crashes
Device and installation identifiers Firebase, RevenueCat and PostHog SDKs To tell installations apart for analytics, crash reports and purchases

The app does not access your camera, microphone, location sensors, contacts, photos or files. It does not show ads.

A copy of your records is kept on your phone so the app works quickly and offline for reading. It is stored in the app's private storage, is removed when you sign out, and is excluded from Android's device backups. Your records are restored from our backend when you sign in again.

2. How we use your data

  • Account: to sign you in with Google and keep your records in your own account.
  • Core features: to calculate rent due, collected and owed, send you rent and lease reminders on your phone, and show your history.
  • Purchases: to unlock the full app after purchase and restore it on your other devices.
  • Analytics: to understand which features are used and where the app can be improved. When analytics is on, your user ID and email address are attached to these events so we can help you if you contact us about a problem.
  • Crash diagnostics: to find and fix crashes. Your user ID is attached to crash reports, and your email address too while analytics is on.

We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell it.

3. Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. The following service providers process data on our behalf, only to provide the features described above:

  • Supabase (Supabase Inc.) — hosts your account and your records. Servers in Tokyo, Japan. https://supabase.com/privacy
  • Google — Google Sign-In, Google Play billing, Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Cloud Messaging. https://policies.google.com/privacy
  • RevenueCat (RevenueCat Inc.) — manages your purchase; receives your purchase history, user ID and email address. https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy
  • PostHog (PostHog Inc.) — product analytics, when analytics is on. https://posthog.com/privacy

We may also disclose data if required by law.

4. Your rights and choices

You can:

  • Delete your account and all its data in the app: Settings → Delete account. This permanently removes your account and every record in it (properties, units, tenants, leases, payments, deposits and timeline) from our backend immediately. Any copy that remains in our hosting provider's automatic backups is removed as those backups expire, within 30 days.
  • Turn off analytics in the app: Settings → Share usage analytics. This stops usage events being sent to PostHog and Firebase Analytics, and stops your email address being attached to analytics and crash reports. Crash reports themselves are still sent so we can fix problems.
  • Get a copy of your data, correct it, or ask us to remove analytics or purchase records held by our service providers, by emailing muhammad.jawwad.dev@gmail.com. We will reply within 30 days. Google keeps records of Play purchases under Google's own policy.

5. Information about your tenants

The tenant details you enter (names, phone numbers, email addresses and notes) are personal data of other people. You decide what to enter, and you are responsible for having a lawful reason to record it, such as managing a tenancy you are a party to. We process it only to provide the app to you, never contact your tenants, and never use it for any other purpose. It is deleted with your account. A tenant who wants their details removed should contact their landlord, or email us and we will pass the request on.

6. Security

  • All data sent between the app and our service providers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
  • Your records are stored in your own account; access rules in our database ensure that no other user can read or change them.
  • You sign in with Google, so the app never sees or stores a password.
  • The copy of your records on your phone lives in the app's private storage, is removed when you sign out, and is not included in device backups.

No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and will tell you without undue delay if a breach affects it.

7. Children

RentPulse is meant for landlords and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has given us data, email us and we will delete it.

8. Users in the EU / EEA (GDPR)

If you are in the European Union or European Economic Area:

  • Who is responsible: Muhammad Jawwad (contact below) is the controller of your account data. For tenant details you enter, you are the controller and we act as your processor.
  • Legal bases: we process your account and records to perform our contract with you (providing the app); analytics on the basis of our legitimate interest in improving the app, which you can switch off at any time; and crash reports on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping the app working.
  • Your rights: access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, and data portability. Use the in-app options above or email us. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
  • International transfers: your data is stored in Japan, which the European Commission has recognised as providing adequate protection, and our service providers use standard contractual clauses for other transfers.

9. California residents (CCPA / CPRA)

If you live in California, you have the right to know what personal information we collect (listed in section 1), to request its deletion, to correct it, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. To make a request, use the in-app options above or email us.

10. Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change.
